Duties • Fire Extinguisher Repair Technician o Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools & hydrostatic testing equipment o Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts o Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials o Assist in fire safety inspection o Working conditions include restricted movement, air contamination, lifting or carrying of heavy objects • Power Tool Repair Technician o Performing service, diagnosing, and making repairs on gas-, air- and electric powered tools such as drills, bandsaws and nail guns. o Read technical manuals, disassemble tools, and use testing devices, such as ammeters and voltmeters, to identify problems. o Responsible for rebuilding defective mechanical parts and rewiring electrical systems, including soldering or coating wires for proper installation. o Prepare paperwork and keep stock of parts. o Have active listening skills to understand customer problems and finger dexterity to make precise finger movements to assemble and manipulate small objects. Employment Type • Regular Full Time • Typical working hours, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. • 40 hours per week with some overtime • $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience Location • LaPorte, IN Requirements • Valid Driver’s License with Good Driving Record • High School Diploma or Equivalent minimum • Bachelor’s Degree, Trade School or Equivalent Work Experience helpful • Good Customer Service Skills • Ability to Work Independently • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills • Friendly and Personable Demeanor • Enjoy Working and Interacting with Public • Professional Customer Relation Skills • Detail-Oriented & Organized • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude • Ability to Accomplish Tasks in a Timely & Safe Manner • Self-Motivated & Positive Attitude • Responsible and Reliable • Ability to work with small hand & power tools • Ability to Discern Additional Sales Opportunities • Ability to lift 75+lbs • Proficient in Utilizing Computer Software and Technology • Honest & Hard Working Company reserves the right to conduct Background Checks & Drug Testing.
