Ever wondered what goes into making your own set of snowshoes? Join MDNR Park Interpreter Craig Kasmer as he guides you through the process of creating and building your very own snowshoes. This two-day workshop will give you a chance to work together in a small group setting to construct and lace your own Ojibwe style wooden-framed snowshoes (11 by 45 inches). All materials will be provided. Tubular nylon will be used for the lacing and participants will be instructed on how to varnish their set after taking them home.
Following the second day of the workshop, participants are invited to join on a guided winter hike through The Gardens with light refreshments.
