Wes Urbaniak and The Mountain Folk Wes Urbaniak and the Mountain Folk play lanigiro (original backwards because original is overused), mountain folk music that tells the story of deeper matters. Their music takes the listener on a thought-provoking journey with twists and turns, ups and downs. Riding a wave through conscious themes and energetic beats; this music will leave you with a good soul aching. Buried with their roots in mountain folk music, the band executes on crossing genres by swooping and dipping into bluegrass, Americana, pop-folk, beatboxing, etcetera. The semi-tamed wild sound of Wes Urbaniak’s lead vocals, in combination with the high and low harmonies, powerfully sing out on the hardships, lessons learned, and beauty in life. As the energy picks up, as it does, you’ll be lifted from the valley of the stillness and carried along by the fast-moving guitar playing and intricate dynamics of the trio to a rollicking rise of emotion. The mixture – one part fairytale, two parts science – describes their lyrics, performance and musical style. Wes writes their lyrics. He also designed and custom built the band’s instruments. Constructed with respect to conservation, the instruments were made with reclaimed wood which alludes to a deep connection and sense of spirit. The whole matter is science pushed through the pinholes of art. Wes Urbaniak and the Mountain Folk consists of Wes Urbaniak on lead vocals/guitar, AJ Sheble on Ukulolo/vocal harmonies, Phil Griffin on upright bass/vocal harmonies. Lucas Brookbank Brown Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Lucas Brookbank Brown is a versatile singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer.
