To understand a family, one must look back at previous generations. Did you know that Blanche and Oakes Ames are related to many politicians and military war heroes? The Ames Family and their relatives played a role in shaping the state of Massachusetts and the Nation. First floor only. 40-minute tour. For adults and older children. The Ames Mansion at Borderland State Park was built in 1910 by Oakes and Blanche Ames. This three-story stone mansion hosts twenty large rooms and is fully furnished, much as they were when the Ames family lived here. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: -Space is limited to 15 people per tour. Pre-register to ensure your spot on the tour. -Masks are recommended. -Tours are free. Parking fees do apply. -No photography or videography allowed inside the mansion. -Meet in front of the Ames Mansion at least 5 minutes BEFORE the tour starts.
