Description

Curtain Call Theatre presents The Lion In Winter on March 6th - 8th & March 12th - 15th. The Lion In Winter tells the story of betrayal, treachery, and deceit. It's just another normal Christmas Court celebration for the royal Plantagenet family of Britain. Who will sit on Henry's throne when he is gone? Will it be Richard - the soldier, his mother's favorite or maybe Geoffrey, the handsome middle son everyone forgets, or maybe John, the immature baby of the family and his father's favorite. Who will marry the beautiful Alais, mistress of Henry & the sister to young King Philip of France? Who does King Philip think should sit on the throne next? Who's plotting will succeed? Who will be the future King? Who will be playing this treacherous game of cat and mouse? Henry II is played by Michael Dale Fisher of Tinley Park, his scheming Queen is played by Dawn DeVries of Park Forest. Their sons who are vying for the crown are David Naze of Flossmoor as Richard, Luke Pascale of Plainfield as Geoffrey and Aidan McGuire of Mokena as John. The young King of France is portrayed by Eric Lauryn of Chicago, while his beautiful sister, Alais is played by Jill Jeffrey of Romeoville. This talented cast is directed by David Luecht of Joliet.
