Description
Yin Yoga by Madeleine Pizey + Acupuncture by Dr. Sophie Harris DACM, L.Ac. The fusion of restorative yin yoga and acupuncture provides a powerful experience within the body. In this practice we will move stagnant qi (energy), release emotions stored in connective tissue, and bring the body into a deeply rested state, enabling you to raise your energetic vibration for abundant healing. Dr. Sophie Harris is a doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine and licensed acupuncturist in Santa Barbara, CA. Through her master and doctoral studies, Dr. Sophie has a deep knowledge in supporting and treating acute and chronic conditions of the mind, body, and spirit. Her passion is rooted in helping her patients find the healer within themselves. Dr. Sophie promotes the empowerment of her patients through a holistic healthcare approach. She is committed to helping each patient reach their highest health goals and is deeply honored to be a part of their healing journeys. Madeleine’s yogic journey brought her to Southeast Asia, where she began to practice Ashtanga yoga daily. This eventually took her to India, where she completed 200 hours of training with Vijay Amor. When Madeleine returned to the States, she continued to study her passion for mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, reiki, and meditation, leading Madeleine to complete over 900 hours of teacher training. Madeleine also earned a master’s degree in Mindfulness from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Madeleine came to this work in search of a way to heal some of her deepest wounding. What she found from being able to go within herself, to be still inside that sea of emotional turbulence, was a truth that would change her life in ways that she is still discovering decades later. A truth so profound in its simplicity that she has devoted her life to sharing it with others – that within each of us is an inner refuge, a place of wild beauty, innate intelligence, and deep wisdom. Through her graduate studies, extensive somatic training, private practice, and experiences with groups, she has the great honor of witnessing the deep shifts, transformation, and growth that is possible when a person learns how to listen to their body and then move with the wisdom it offers. What to bring: You will need to bring a yoga mat and bolster/pillow for this class. We also recommend props/blocks, warm layers, and a blanket to create a comfortable cozy corner for yoga and acupuncture. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in, set up your space, and have your intake forms completed and confirmed. There is a small parking lot and surrounding street parking available Always feel free to reach out with any questions through email at [email protected]
