Summary: The Maintenance Technician ensures that the facility and facility equipment is in good repair and working order. Duties and Responsibilities: · Performs a variety of tasks to ensure that the facility is properly maintained, serviced and repaired including electrical, mechanical and plumbing. · May assist in the installation of new equipment. · Works as a plumber in assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of water systems. Unclogs drains. · Acts as a carpenter on projects as required. · Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed. · May perform minor repairs to HVAC system as required and sees to general maintenance of the system. · Schedules and performs preventative maintenance. Qualifications and experience: · Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in a mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instructions. · Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, HVAC equipment and general repairs. · General knowledge of various types of equipment used for repairs. · Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions. · Ability to follow instructions, either orally or in writing. · Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Behavioral requirements: Must be detail oriented and able to follow specifications on test procedures.
