Description
Hi, my name is Toshinori, or Toshi for short as my mama calls me. I am an 11 month old self red merle purebred Australian Shepherd with one partial blue eye. I will be one on February 22nd. I've been with my human mama since I was 12 weeks old, and was originally adopted with the plan that I would become her service dog. Unfortunately, I'm just not cut out to be a service dog. I try really hard to do what is asked in my training but ultimately, my mama can tell I just don't like that type of job. She knows it takes a long time to train a service dog, but it's not that. I just don't like it. I've worked really hard in my training and know several commands including sit, down, stay, and leave it. I walk well on a leash and know a pretty good heel. I am able to sit and wait for my food very well. I am good with being bathed, and I get blow dried after every bath and love it. I'm working on being okay with getting my nails trimmed but need some work. My recall on my long lead is very good but sometimes I get distracted when I'm off leash. I'm potty trained and only have accidents if you leave me in my crate for more than 8 hours which has only happened once or twice. I can hold it all night and sleep very well in my crate. I also know the command "crate" and go right in. I still sometimes chew things up but I also will drop whatever I have if you tell me, I'm still a puppy so grabbing random things is to be expected. I'm not neutered, but I know my mama wants me to be so if you're looking to breed, please keep going. I'm up to date on all my shots except I am due for my rabies vaccination. I love all people including kids, I'm good with dogs, and cats though the cats don't always love me because I try to smother them with love. I can be a little excitable so little kids might not be the best choice for me unless they are tough. My mama has chickens and I've never hurt one but I'm very interested in them since I'm a herding dog. I LOVE to swim, it's my favorite fun thing to do! I also really enjoy hiking. I'd be a great hiking and adventure buddy, or a kids best friend to run and play with. I'd like to find a family who will spend a lot of time with me and let me be a part of the family, I promise I'd be a great addition! If you think you'd be a good fit for Toshi, please email or text Kalli at I am asking a $250 rehoming fee to ensure he goes to a good place, though that is negotiable to the right family. He's a great dog, and if I had the time and space for him as well as another prospect service dog I would just keep him. I just want to give him his best chance in life.
