1st Shift Production Holston Gases Inc., a leading independent producer and distributor of industrial, medical, specialty gases & related equipment, is seeking motivated individual to become a 1st shift production team member to join our team. JOB SUMMARY: The 1st shift production position will work in a team environment to safely and efficiently achieve daily production goals. Unload cylinder trucks as they return, if needed. Sort empty cylinders into like pallets while making sure each cylinder is safe and legal to fill per DOT law and Holston Gases policies. Fills cylinders according to known orders and available stock. Fill known dry ice orders. Performs forklift inspection(s) at beginning of shift. Maintains neat, clean, professional personal appearance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Perform prefill inspection on all cylinders as required by DOT law and Holston Gases policies while sorting them onto pallets of like gas or mixture. • Fill cylinders based on known orders at the time, stock levels, and/or availability of empty cylinders to fill. • Fill any known dry ice orders • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed. • Communicate with team and incoming shift to ensure efficiency can be maintained. • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area at all times. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to read, write, and comprehend material safety data sheets. • Knowledge of the area and ability to lift 75 lbs. required. • Ability to work independently and/or within a team environment and under some pressure to meet deadlines. • Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary. • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds. • Must have basic computer experience. • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the company. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work during prolonged standing, briskly walking, frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and feeling. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
