Description
Sailing Skills and Seamanship: The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's 14 week Sailing Skills and Seamanship Course (SS&S) is a comprehensive course that will prepare a sailor with the basic information needed to operate sailboats under a variety of conditions. This course does not lead to a boater education certificate.
Many insurance companies will offer discounts on boat insurance to individuals who successfully complete this course and can present their course completion certificate.
This course is an in person instructor led class presented at Southern Maine Community College at 2 Fort Road in South Portland, ME.
Please Note: The first night's class begins at 6:30PM. All other Classes will begin at 7PM.
USCG Auxiliary boating education is taught by Certified Instructors with years of on the water experience.
