Seeking bassist for originals project

Drummer and guitarist seek bassist for originals. We’re seasoned players who play in gigging cover bands but wanted a creative outlet where we can jam, have fun and come up with new ideas. We’re having a blast so far and want to see where this goes. Thinking it’s time to find the right bassist to join us. Style wise, we don’t want to define it just yet. We are exploring a lot of different vibes to see what clicks and where we land. One thing we’re trying to avoid, from a process standpoint, is bringing pre-written songs to each other to learn. We want to come up with our ideas and overall sound together, in the room, through jamming. Also, this is a no pressure, take it one-step-at-a-time situation. Step 1) First, let’s exchange recordings, to figure out if we like each others playing. Step 2) Get together and jam. Do we click? Is it fun? If yes, then… Step 3) Jam more, record everything. Are there cool ideas, worth developing? if yes… Step 4) Refine and record the ideas Step 5) Are the recordings good? Worthy of playing out? Do others dig it. Yes? Play gigs. And that’s about it. Tours, record deals, riches and worldwide fame are not the expected outcome. We are doing this because we are creatives and therefore must create. Interested? Here’s what we’re looking for. - you’re a great bass player - you are into improvising and free jamming ideas - you show up - chill to hang with - you have lots of recorded examples of your playing you’re happy to share - you live reasonably close to Haverhill - You’ve played live enough to be comfortable onstage. You do not fear playing out. You love it. A little bit about us - we’re in our 50s, seasoned and experienced - we have a place to jam and record - both very experienced with stage and studio Next step: - send us samples of you playing.
