Learn the art of Warli drawing (Ages 5 to 18)
Originating from the tribal villages of the Northern Sahyadri Ranges in Maharashtra, a unique art form of Warli combines simple geometric designs to depict elements of nature as its focal point. Representing an artist’s ode to nature, natural resources and wildlife, this art form employs techniques of precision and finesse combined with the artist’s creativity to magic. The grandeur of this art has embellished caves and mud-houses in the village of Warli.
Bring your kids to enjoy a one-of-a-kind class as they learn this ancient and exotic art under the guidance of an experienced instructor and bring home a masterpiece that they will create. All supplies will be provided.
Learn the art of Kolam/Rangoli (Ages 18+)
Synonymous with Muggu or tharai alankaram or rangoli in other native Indian languages, Kolam is a decorative art created conventionally by using rice flour. Perceived to bring prosperity, Kolams part of a daily routine in every household. Symmetry, geometry and creativity are core elements in the creation of Kolams; which are made even today as a proof of coexistence of man with his nature. The rice flour used serves as fine dining for the insects, birds and other tiny creatures that surround our environment.
Come, join our creative genius instructor as she takes you through an hour-long journey to explore this art form. You will be learning the basics of kolam and will learn to create a kolam using the kolam powder. You will be able to take home the Kolam you created. All supplies will be provided.
