Attendees should gather at the nature preserve's parking lot by 9:00AM. An expert guide will be present from the Ridgefield Park Environmental Commission. You can enter the directions to the Ridgefield Park Jr/Sr High School to locate the parking lot (off E. Grand, just before the high school's lot and front entrance). Please dress in layers as it will be chilly and make sure to wear appropriate footwear as some areas might be muddy. Bring your binoculars, camera and a bag to carry out your trash should you bring a beverage or snack - or if you wish to pick up any litter along the way to help maintain the preserve. Dogs are not allowed in the nature preserve in order to protect the natural habitat for the wildlife. Tickets are not needed at the event, but we do ask to sign up so we can be aware of the size of the group. The nature preserve will officially open in Spring, but take this opportunity for a sneak peak! At our recent bird count, 16 species were identified - including an eagle! This is an event for all ages. The terrain is not particularly strenuous as there are foot paths and most land is flat. Please be aware that there is an area of the park with a few steps to enter.
