In “Yellow Wife,” Sadeqa Johnson paints a world of rich details of the antebellum South. The story is told through the eyes of Pheby Brown, a biracial girl born to an enslaved mother and a white plantation owner. Because of her status, Pheby was sheltered as a child from much of the violence and harshness of slavery.
The Arts and Letters Committee presents The Red Book Society Book Discussion: Yellow Wife, a book by Sadeqa Johnson.
During the book discussion, facilitators will take participants into a creative expression to explore several themes within the book for further dialogue and discussion while incorporating real life experiences and discussions.
