Hi! Are you into medieval stuff? Crafts? Hitting things with swords? Do you want to play instruments? Dance? Dress in medieval clothing and eat weird food in a community hall? Maybe the SCA is for you! (Or it was for you in the past, or you're currently involved and wondering what's up.) There's an active branch of the SCA in the area, but all the meetings are in Ithaca. That's fine, Ithaca is a great place, but it's also a heck of a drive (especially in winter). Is anyone in the Elmira/Corning area interested in getting together? I'm sure I've heard about people in Elmira and Corning that either are or are interested in the SCA, and it would be great if we could all meet up somewhere. We can't do fighting stuff without official marshals, but we could do arts and sciences stuff, and figure out garb, do crafty things, chat, you know. We could also rideshare to Ithaca for the more official meet-ups, and figure out rides to more far-flung events. Any interest? Please let me know! I'd like to get this going this year.
