Training Overview: Cost: $225.00 per registrant. Open to individual educators or educator teams, with Act 48 credit offered. All training materials, resources, and PBL support will be available for one calendar year from the start of the training. This training will be hosted at the Consortium for Public Education (1100 Industry Rd., McKeesport, PA 15132) Thursday, March 23rd, 2023: 8:30am - 2:30pm EST (Part I)Thursday, March 30th, 2023: 8:30am - 2:30pm EST (Part II)Our veteran instructional team is proud to have trained more than 500 educators in project-based learning, working with schools from Pennsylvania to New England. We are excited to once again offer an introductory course for educators who are interested in beginning their PBL journey! This training will focus on 10 design elements of project-based learning: Learning OutcomesPBL AssessmentsDriving QuestionsReal World ConnectionsStudent Voice & ChoiceResearchBrainstormingFeedback & RevisionReflectionPublic PresentationIt is our goal to provide both a foundational understanding of PBL while also offering specific supports, resources, and strategies so that educators develop the knowledge and skills necessary to begin implementing PBL in their classrooms. This training will actively engage participants through discussion, exploration of resources and project examples, practice, and planning. On the second day, participants will have time to begin planning a project of their own, with individual coaching as needed. Consortium staff will be available, as needed, to provide ongoing feedback and support to participating educators throughout their first PBL project.
