We are pleased to have you join us for our White Coat ceremony! This is a momentous occasion in our educational careers, as we prepare to go off to our externships. Au.D. students pursue a very rigorous four-year doctoral program in which they perform clinical work, diagnose various degrees of hearing loss, pursue habilitation and rehabilitation treatment with patients, conduct research, prescribe hearing amplification, and much more. The white coat simply symbolizes their capacity to perform these tasks and their intent to master these skills. Moreover, the white coat helps to identify Au.D. students’ professionalism while pursuing clinical practicum.
