Volunteer at food pantries that help feed New Yorkers in need!
The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) supports the Lower East Side and wider NYC community with human services and community development programs. While the majority of services are oriented to older adults, UJCES also has programs for families and children. UJCES volunteers are essential to our mission as we serve New Yorkers.
DETAILS:
We are looking for up volunteers to help organize and distribute food pantry items.
Instructions are provided on site. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials. This opportunity involves retrieving items from outdoors and bringing them into an indoor facility, rain or shine.
You must be 14+ years old to volunteer, and groups of volunteers 14-17 years old must be accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s).
You can join compassionate people in supplying nutritious food to the New York City community.
DAYS & TIMES:
We are looking for volunteers, who are available on any of the following dates:
- Monday, February 6, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Monday, February 13, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Join the UJCES team! Please complete an online application form at ujceastside.org/volunteer-nyc. You can also sign up with a school group, or a group of coworkers (10 maximum). Groups may also email us as soon as possible, to express interest.
