Description
The band name is The Outer Limits and we plan to play and have been working on Vietnam era rock, mostly of the psychedelic nature. The plan at this point is to work as a 3-piece to maximize earning potential but minimize learning hurdles. We are a bassist and guitarist, both of whom can sing lead and we harmonize well together. These are a few of the songs we've been attempting, some further along than others:
Tales of Brave Ulysses - Cream
Not Fade Away - Stones (but it has a tendency to mutate into other songs using the same Bo Diddley rhythm, like Mona or I Want Candy)
Hey Joe - Hendrix
Time Has Come Today - Chambers Brothers
Not Your Stepping Stone - Monkees/Raiders with a little bit of Flies
Tomorrow Never Knows - Beatles but the version we do is way different
Let's Live For Today - Grass Roots
My Generation - Who
I Can See For Miles - Who
Tell Me - Stones
The plan is to do more Hendrix, Cream, Stones, whatever Doors we can do with no keyboardist, Byrds, CCR, Yardbirds, Trower, and some of the lesser remembered but equally cool bands like Electric Prunes.
If it makes a difference to you, we are both 60+ and retired, not that you have to be but it does open up the possibility of day rehearsals. Also, we live in West and Central Pasco County so anything in the outer reaches from there would not work.
If this sounds like something you can get into, please message me your details and a link to your playing and your Facebook page. You will need to use a real email if you attempt to send files.
