Eskenazi Health and community partners are launching a new multi-year initiative to address health disparities in Indianapolis. Together with partners we will create Health Equity Zones--places where we partner with community organizations, creating a healthy neighborhood through a shared vision and joint implementation of health goals that address long-term social determinants of health including racial equity and economic mobility, ultimately resulting in increased life expectancy for neighborhood residents. The initial demonstration pilot involves a planning process to create a Health Equity Zone Action Plan, one of which within Indianapolis' Northeast Corridor. The purpose of the Northeast Corridor public meeting will be to: Gather input through widespread community outreachCreating long-term trusting relationships between neighborhood residents and leaders and Eskenazi Health teamGenerating possibilities of new partnerships and programs to support health equityThe public meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 8th @ 5:30pm - 7:00pm at the Avondale Meadows YMCA (Conference Room A/B). This public meeting is open to all who live, work, and love Northeast Indianapolis.
