Description
Whether you call it by the French name Grenache or the Spanish moniker Garnacha, this grape remains one of the world's most versatile yet underappreciated grapes. It is equally at home as a single varietal in wine or the backbone of a red blend. It makes a gorgeous rosé and can produce light-bodied, crisp wines just as easily as deep, brooding, and heavy wines. There are also the white and gray mutations of grenache, grenache blanc and grenache gris, to flush out this little family of grapes.
In this class, Laura Botten will lead you on an exploration of Grenache in all its forms - by itself, in blends, in rosé form - any way the Grenache can be used to make delicious wine you will taste. Expect wines from a wide variety of locales, climates, and winemaking philosophies. Join us to see why Grenache is truly one of the greatest wine grapes in the world.
