The event is being hosted by The Sherrod Institute’s Southwest Georgia Project for Community Education, in partnership with the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
We’ve chosen ‘The Power of Achieving Sustainable Agriculture Through Conservation’ as this year’s theme – part of our ongoing mission to educate, uplift, and inspire Black Southwest Georgia farmers and the communities they serve.
The backdrop for the event is the Institute’s main campus, Cypress Pond, whose 1600 acres and antebellum history promises to hold the attention of students studying agriculture, sociology, history, and technology.
Given that more than 200 attendees are expected including students, the event also offers a unique opportunity to students from Southwest Georgia.
