Receiving Associate: 3/4 Time Job Description: Do you like opening boxes? Being the first to get a glimpse of brand-new products? Are you a behind-the-scenes worker? If you answered yes to any of these questions then working in the receiving department of the Museum Shop is for you! Essential Duties: • Takes direction regarding receiving procedures: This includes entering purchase orders accurately, inspecting, tagging, and receiving merchandise. • Works closely with the sales floor in maintaining inventory on the sales floor and back stock areas. • Distributes inventory to appropriate Museum Shop areas. Assists with stocking and storing of all merchandise. • Handles issues and vendor communications in a timely manner. Updates management regularly. • Helps in all facets of store operations, on an as-needed basis, including cash register sales, customer service, and associates break coverage. • Active participant as a productive member of the division and Museum wide community. Minimum qualifications/Requirements: • 1 year of experience with inventory processing • 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced retail environment • High School diploma, or equivalent required. • Evenings, weekends, and holidays required. • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and web-enabled applications required. • The Museum loves science.
