Description

Rhythm guitar wanted We have charts. Rhythm player must read well enough to identify rhythm notations in a chart... (1/8th notes, half notes/quarter notes/ rests and accent markings. etc.) Looking for jazz inversions. An acustic player (with microphone) would work. We have a tube amp setup in house. Looking for a polyrhythm foundation 3:2, 2:3 pop rock, (Think... Bo Diddley) We play traditional charts but want the feel of Afro Cuban Jazz in many charts with a dance, pop, or rock delivery. Members have semi-professional experience. Need the right beat to continue development. We are a rehearsal group at this time. Not delusional about getting a band together and "gigging". A 12-piece band with horns and 3 vocalists. The band is here for personal growth, development or to stretch members music into new areas. We will not turn down a gig but realize that a large group takes time to form, lots of rehearsals and has limited venues in this area. This area needs a new sound. Not our first rodeo. Everyone in the band is vaccinated. A non-negotiable requirement. It's a tight rehearsal room and some members have health issues. Tuesday nights with reliable attendance. Phone number and conversation after first Craigslist contact. Looking for someone local (Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton) who can afford to be part of our project band. This is not a jam band or a Latin band either. Homework is required. Not a good fit for blues players. An upscale project with excitement. We have a lead guitar already. Rhythm player must be secure with the format of a lead and rhythm guitar playing independently. This band has clear direction and one leader. Our initial pdf book and house printed copy has 120 charts. A tablet is appropriate or we can furnish a printed book. We are not a "Latin band". We are looking to merge some more modern sounds with traditional and newer charts. Here is an example of the feel and rhythm we are looking for. (sort of old style Cuban) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLYcpQF_USQ
