If you can't sing by the time you have 5 years of experience playing an instrument and can't contribute with good vocals, you failed to do your job. Singing is the natural extension of being a musician. Everyone can sing if they practice. It just shows a lack of dedication. So even if this self proclaimed "Best Lead Guitar Player in Florida" isn't better on leads then you or I, but can play decent leads and sing lead vocals - that does in fact, put him above most all other "lead guitar players". Note he didn't mention "lead guitarists" There is a major difference. The definition of a "lead guitarist" is: A studied musician who is qualified to lead a group of players. Or simply; Band Leader.
