Applicant MUST be non-smoking and preferably non-drinking (as am I). Also prefer mostly or all vegetarian or vegan (as am I) due to point 1 under compensation below (we would be residential neighbors as well as a business team). Also require character and/or work references. An interest in history, art and/or design would be beneficial. I own a 3300 sq. ft. 3-story property in Manhattan Beach. I will be using the ground floor to operate a collectibles business and living upstairs. I am looking for someone to perform the following tasks: 1) Regular cleaning and maintenance of the property, yard work. 2) Doing any necessary repairs or construction that you are capable of, or assisting therein. 3) Moving/assembling furniture, store fixtures and displays. 4) Sorting, inventorying, labelling and handling merchandise; pulling, packing and shipping orders. 5) Helping customers in store and by phone/email, making sales. 6) Taking photos of/scanning inventory and uploading to websites (will train). 7) Writing product descriptions insofar as you are capable (will train). 8) Computer-assisted basic graphic design of promo materials insofar as you are capable of doing or learning. 9) Assistance with printing reproductions, product development. 10) Assisting me with other real estate that I invest in. Essentially, you would be my right-hand person. I am 75 and still going strong but I can’t do it all by myself. Compensation: 1) Rent-free brand new private garden studio apartment (to be completed in 3-4 months, hopefully with your input & assistance). You would need lodging elsewhere in the interim, preferably in the area or near B or Q train lines. 2) $200 cash weekly advance against sales commission (no taxes taken out). 3) 5% commission on all business sales over a minimum threshold that I need to break even ($7500 per month). The business has almost unlimited sales potential. 4) Additional cash payment for “outside” real estate related work (i.e. cleaning, maintenance, repairs, construction etc. at other sites). 5) Possible future equity in business and real estate for the right person. I can’t guarantee you’ll get rich overnight but I can provide some basic security and LOTS of growth potential for the right MOTIVATED and HARD WORKING individual.
