Nina Simonds is the author of ten award-wining Asian cookbooks and a best-selling children’s book, “ Moonbeams, Dumplings, and Dragon Boats”. Nina was the Asian correspondent for Gourmet magazine and the Sunday Travel section of The NY Times. Nicole Liu is founder and CEO of VESTER, a Danish inspired cafe and catering/event service. She is the daughter of acclaimed restaurateurs Sally Ling and Edward Nan Liu, who opened Sally Ling's Restaurant on Boston's Waterfront in 1984. Sally Ling's restaurant has been regarded as one of the country's first fine dining gourmet Chinese restaurants. Liu references her immersion and upbringing in restaurants and travel while creating her first concept, VESTER. Liu's first location opened in Kendall Square (Cambridge) in August 2018. She has since expanded to the South Boston neighborhood in October 2022 and is opening her third VESTER location at Cambridge's The Foundry in January 2023. VESTER is inspired and fueled by Liu's passion for international travel and bringing communities together through the medium of dining.
