Kentucky Nurses Association Green River Chapter, Deaconess Hospital, and Preston Arts Center Present: The 4th Annual NCLEX Challenge Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST Preston Arts Center Henderson, Kentucky 42420 Program Overview Nursing students from western Kentucky and southern Indiana nursing programs will compete for the NCLEX Challenge Traveling Trophy as they collaborate with team members from their schools to answer NCLEX-style questions. Program Objectives Upon completion of this event, participants will be able to: 1. Demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues 2. Utilize test-taking strategies to answer NCLEX-style questions 3. Evaluate the ability to answer NCLEX-style questions 4. Identify areas for review and remediation of nursing concepts 5. Recognize and honor area nursing programs for their current and future contributions to the communities they serve Program Information & Schedule* Students graduating in May 2023 or December 2023 are eligible to participate as part of a competing team. Schools can submit a maximum of two teams that rotate out for the second round of competition. 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Registration, meal, & vendors 6:00 – 6:10 p.m. Welcome from Green River Chapter President & Deaconess Henderson Hospital Chief Administrative Officer 6:10 – 6:15 p.m. Introduction of Teams & Rules 6:15 – 6:45 p.m. First round of competition 6:45 – 7:05 p.m. Break 7:05 – 7:35 p.m. Second round of competition 7:35 – 7:45 p.m. Traveling Trophy awarded to winning team 7:45 – 8:00 p.m. Program Conclusion & Evaluation * Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event Program Costs (Includes Meal & Refreshments) Team of 6 students- $30 (per team) Licensed nurses- $20 (2 CEs awarded) Audience members- $10 Continuing Education Credit Information This event is approved for 2 contact hours of KBN credit education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing 3-0006-3-21-001. The KBN approval of an individual nursing continuing education provider does not constitute endorsement of offering content. Attendance requirement: you must attend the entire session and complete the electronic evaluation to be awarded KBN contact hours. We reserve the right to cancel or alter the program if unanticipated circumstances necessitate change. The program evaluation will be sent to all participants via e-mail. Continuing education certificates will be emailed after completing the program evaluation. Registration & Payment Information Deadline to Register Tuesday, March 14th Register and pay via link.
