I host jazz jam a few times a month at my place in Northern Troy. It's mostly people who were very involved in music at one time and left but are looking to come back more seriously but need and environment or they can step back into things. it's usually a different lineup every time we play but we generally read charts out of the real book or I real pro in a non judgmental and very supportive environment. we haven't had a bass player for a long time and would love to have somebody come and jam with us. if you left the music world and are looking to get back in and have played a little bit of jazz before or are a rock player that would like to play a little bit more jazz this might be a good fit for you. Let us know if you'd like to give it a shot. A lot of the people that have participated over the years are in gigging bands and we'd like to think that we played a part in that. what do you have to lose?
