Established rock band seeks a blazing guitarist

Well established rock band seeks a blazing guitarist (M/F) to replace a founding band member. We all sing harmony, so any backup (or lead) vocal is a plus. 1-2 gigs a month, rehearse as needed (after initially working you in with weekly rehearsals (or alternate weeks). Possible Deer Park or Northport rehearsal - TBD. We are lifelong pro-players - Bass, Drums, and Lead Vox. In this band, Bass and Guitar often cover other instruments - keys, synths, horns, strings - so we’re looking for a versatile, creative sound. We’re looking to get back playing out asap, so we need a quick study who can find the right notes. We play an eclectic set - anywhere from the 60’s to present, but with a concentration in the 80’s and 90’s. We cover alternative, grunge, metal, pop and top 40, punk, and classic rock. Among many others, we play Foo Fighters and STP; Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, and Queen; Beatles and Stones; Duran Duran and The Tubes; Black Sabbath and Judas Priest; Matthew Sweet and Eve 6; Neon Trees and James; The Smiths and The Cure; U2 and R.E.M.; The Killers and The White Stripes; Green Day and The Offspring; The Ramones and Motorhead; Blondie, Elvis Costello, and Joe Jackson; Living Color and Rancid; Asia; John Cougar; The Jam; The Knack; The Vapors; The Fixx; etc. We have a little more than 150 songs, but we’re willing to learn your stuff too, as long as it fits our sound. We generally lean away from an artist's biggest hit (within reason) and lean toward the 2nd biggest, or B-side (within reason). We love covers of covers: Lemonheads - Mrs Robinson; Duran Duran - White Lines; Disturbed covering Genesis; we even do a punk/metal cover of Paula Abdul!
