Description
So, I am a 60+ year old pianist/vocalist looking for a female vocalist to form a small venue duo. I have been performing for over 45 years in So. Cal. and Denver. My last venture was The Hat Madderz (who you can find on GigSalad). Sadly, the bass player moved away, the drummer really wanted to play guitar with a trio, and the guitarist is looking to go more country, so after 3 successful years (we made money) we have disbanded. I participated in two successful duos (One in L.A. and one here) over the previous 8 years. I would like to start another one.
Generally, I can learn and play almost any song in a key you are comfortable singing. You can hear samples of my solo work, duos and my previous band at the links below. Musically, I cross genres. For professional examples of what I strive for you might listen to “The Lounge Kittens” or watch performances by Keely Smith and Louis Prima, Sonny and Cher, or the Captain and Tennille. Not for song choice, but the Goofy musician and the serious singer vibe. As you can hear from the attached links, I have a wide variety of songs and genres already in my repertoire.
I am retired, so my time is my own. I can rehearse at my apartment (my wife makes a good chaperone) or anywhere reasonable you want. I have more than enough gear for rehearsals and performances.
If you would like to meet up and discuss options, we can certainly meet at a public place so you don’t have to worry that you might have to “put the lotion in the basket.”
