Description

First things first: I'm 52 but don't look a day over 40. That's a vegan diet, daily exercise and lack of substance abuse for you. Think Carl Palmer. If you're a pack of yutes or an ageist click away. Remember, Dave Grohl is 52 and you'd put his you-know-what in your mouth every day for him joining your band. I don't want that. I've been in bands since I was 15 years old starting as a synth player (full rack of Rolands here including the original Juno-60 I bought in 1986) but switched to drums when Heavy Metal destroyed the career of almost every synth player on the planet. I learned drums to The Who, The Police, Jane's Addiction, Steely Dan, The Cult and Queensryche. Gotta be well rounded and yes, I can play them all. I can sing lead from the kit and did so professionally (as in, I did NOT have a day job NOR live with my parents) for three years in an 80's cover band AND a 70's cover band (1997-2000). My voice is close to Robin Zander without the rasp but when I do Taking Heads or The Cars, close your eyes and you'll swear it was the real deal. I've been on tour (opened for Helmet, Marylin Manson, Korn, etc....as in the band right BEFORE them, not the first band on a ten band bill 1992-1995 and was endorsed by Sabian at the time) and I've played in tribute bands (Joy Divison, Velvet Underground and Guided By Voices) here and there. I've been in SEVERAL original bands over the last 30 years and am long WAY over that. Point, I know the dynamics and nuances of getting along with others, being VERY professional, working smarter not harder and most importantly I DO NOT F*CK AROUND. I have a Slingerland acoustic kit and a huge set of Roland V-drums loaded with an SPD-X and triggers thru DAW/Abelton. I have been programming midi/synths/DAW/VST's since they were invented. I'm looking for: 1) a tribute or cover band because THAT is where the money is, period, the end. And that's ONLY if your group is currently working or absolutely amazing and have the connections to be working ($$$). OR... 2) a signed band/artist with tour support ($$$) in need of what is described above. No start-ups, hobbyists, bros dusting-off cobwebs, nor playing for free on Tuesday nights to barflies and the staff at your favorite dive out in the woods. UNLESS they're full of former lottery winners with wads of bills just falling out of their pockets. I've been out of this scene for a few years: I remodeled a house with a studio and then COVID came. I'm in the process of securing management/representation so I can get better connected but in the meantime, here I am. I don't do R&B, boring Blues, Jazz (I can do Steely Dan but not Art Blakey all night long), Country music past the 80's, double-bass for an entire set, Rap/Hip-Hop or anything even remotely current/popular as that's not even music. So.... Clips/Links/Further-Info will be provided to those who answer WITH SUCH of their own. Why would you want to watch/listen to mine if you're in a Polka or Nu-Metal band? Why would we waste each other's time? This either reads perfect to you and you're ready to pitch your trip, or it doesn't and you're not. Easy! I'm musically all over the place with some limits listed above. I'm as bag a fan of Mingus as I am of Marillion. Dig? What I think this world needs is a synth-having metal/hard rock tribute (Queensryche, Halen '84, Iron Maiden, DIO/Rainbow, OZZY, etc...) and/or an OG Industrial tribute (NIN, Ministry, FLA, Front 242, etc...). I'm ready for that $hit right now!?!
