In this introduction to Throwing Clay, you’ll be making your own custom-made bowls or mugs using our pottery wheels and some basic trimming tools. As always, this workshop will be a supportive learning environment for you to develop basic pottery skills and get to know our tools and equipment in the clay shop! You’ll throw, trim and glaze over 4 weeks. Each workshop is two hours long. Workshop Dates: Tuesdays 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28 Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm* *The first class is 5:30 - 8:00pm as there is more to cover in the first session. Limited to 6 makers Instructor: Summer Bredlinger Ages: 18+ Cost includes all four workshops, materials, space, and instruction. Meet the Instructor, Summer Brendlinger, of Kilned with Kindness! Summer began working and falling in love with clay in high school, and went on to study at SOU. She has a masters and 14 year background in elementary education. She has since stepped out of the conventional classroom and currently teaches ceramics while growing her small artisan business. Her love of ceramics and the process shows in each of her classes, which blend her love of the artform and instruction. She has a focus on functional pieces made on the wheel and through various other techniques. You can feel the love in every piece!
