Few rappers can match the unmistakable timbre of Ludacris' signature drawl in terms of sonic recognizability. Since his 1998 on-record debut, Luda has been a constant presence in rap music, and with "Party Girls," the first preview single from his eighth album Ludaversal, climbing the charts in early 2014, he isn't showing any signs of slowing down. With a new album set to hit stores in 2014, fans can expect some special treatment on Luda's upcoming tour dates. In 2013, he treated audiences to marathon sets of his greatest hits.
Born Christopher Brian Bridges in Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta at age nine. After a stint as a radio DJ on Atlanta's legendary Hot 97.5, he scored his first mainstream exposure on the track "Phat Rabbit," a collaboration with Timbaland from the famed producer's 1998 album Tim's Bio: Life from da Basement. Ludacris built on this success with his 2000 debut album Back for the First Time, which contained several huge singles, and in 2003 he topped the Billboard 200 with third album Chicken-n-Beer. His next two albums would also top the chart, spawning classic No. 1's "Stand Up" and "Money Maker" and establishing him as one of rap's biggest players. With seven Top 5 albums under his belt and eighth album Ludaverse due out in 2014, anticipation for Luda's upcoming tour dates is at fever pitch.
