Monica L. Cooper, UC Viticulture Advisor, and the UCCE-Napa Vit Team, including Hannah Fendell-Hummel, Sarah MacDonald, and Jennifer Rohrs, will discuss recent research on red blotch disease ecology and lead a discussion of disease management. Topics will include: (1) TCAH sampling (traps vs. visual inspections), (2) TCAH host plants, (3) asymptomatic vines and latency, (4) mapping visual symptoms, (5) timing of GRBV detection using analytical methods, (6) spatial patterns of disease incidence, (7) roguing, redevelopment and regional disease management. Our application for continuing education credits is pending 1.5 hours “other” (DPR) and 1.5 hours “pest management” (CCA) for license holders.
