WANT TO GROW? The SBA’s 8(a) Business Development Program can be one of the most powerful tools a small business uses. This up to nine-year-term business development program aims to grow and prepare socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses to be more competitive in the federal marketplace. Among the top benefits of this program is a powerful opportunity to efficiently compete and receive set aside and sole source contracts. If you’re registered in SAM.gov and completed your DSBS profile and thought about applying to the 8(a) program but aren’t sure whether to take the next steps, this workshop is for you. Also, learn about assistance provided by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). 8(a) Program Eligibility requirements: Be a small business.Not have previously participated in the 8(a) BD Program.Be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens who are socially (member of a racial/ethnic minority group, or due to cultural bias) and economically (personal net worth below $850K, adjusted gross income of $400K or less, and assets totaling $6.5 million or less) disadvantaged.Show potential for success: In business for at least two years and have the managerial, operational, financial & technical capacity to perform on contracts. This event is in collaboration with the SHSU Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
