Welcoming the community to shop local, all while supporting the talented artists in Tucson, #ThisIsTucson is putting together an outdoor artisan market dubbed Tucson Together, taking place on Fifth Avenue near Congress Street. You'll find handmade and curated items from dozens of local makers, including earrings, baked goods, soaps and vintage clothing. Stay tuned for the full vendor list!
This market will also feature a book scavenger hunt from the literacy-loving group Tucson Tome Gnome, who will hide 10 free books (written by local authors/editors Adiba Nelson and Jessica P. Pryde) around the market space. Learn more about Tucson Tome Gnome here.
We're also encouraging attendees to bring items for a donation drive to go toward local nonprofit Youth On Their Own. Items needed include cereal, ramen, tissues and/or menstrual products, which will go to the organization's Mini Mall, a space where students can "shop" for food and household items for free. You can find the full list of items needed, or learn more about YOTO, here.
This event is free to attend (bring money for shopping, though!). You do not need to reserve a ticket in advance. You can come whenever, no RSVP required. :)
