The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is looking for full-time Custodians to join our Event Operations team! Who We Are Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s. Outside of the best 16 days in January, our events complex keeps busy year-round by hosting horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, concerts, cheerleading competitions, car shows and more. Our Event Operations team plays a critical role in all of our events and keeps our complex functioning at all times. What We Do Members of our Custodial Team work closely with our Event Staff to complete a variety of tasks relating to the events hosted at the National Western Complex. Typical tasks include clearing/emptying trash, sweeping/mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms/event spaces. In addition to ensuring our Complex is event-ready, Custodians also maintain all common areas and office spaces. What You Need No experience is necessary; we will teach you everything you need to know. As our Custodians will be trained on and need to operate equipment such as riding floor sweepers and scrubbers, candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Custodians must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events. All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
