Description
Hey all,
My name is Sean, 31, been playing guitar about 20 years. Played in a prog rock band for many years in Chicago (link below), however the last couple of years I have been getting really into jazz and would like to start a project more centered around that.
I have a vision for a band that would combine elements of prog and indie rock with the backbone of gypsy jazz. Essentially, I want a jazz band that plays a ton of original music and isn't afraid to riff around and use effects while at the same time still maintaining a classic "jazz sound".
I know that starting a band is not as appealing as joining an established one for most people. The huge benefit that a project like this would offer is the ability for creative control, especially if you are interested in writing.
Obviously to do something like this I need to find like-minded, talented musicians. I have a few people in mind that could serve as fill-ins; however I really need to find 1-2 people to serve as foundational pieces with me to help me get this off the ground. I have a handful of songs written and also know a handful of standards that we can start with.
Looking for all types of instruments: in particular, bass, guitar, piano or drums. Also would love to get a sax, trumpet, clarinet or violin in the mix too.
Send me an email if you are interested in getting together and we can go from there!
