Need SMALL amount of HELP

Currently living in my car with my dog. Went to sleep with gas in my car, woke up cold to run the engine for awhile and some jerk siphoned the small amount of gas we had left in my old car. Perhaps something is wrong with my gas gauge but I have never had this problem before and I saw footprints leading up to my gas tank and what looks like gas spilling out down my paint.
