At the end of life, spirituality comes into focus as patients reflect and often seek guidance and support. Our team of caregivers includes nurses, aides, doctors, social workers, volunteers, and hospice chaplains, who are available to partner and assist church members in caring for your congregation as they transition through end of life. VNA Hospice of NWI is hosting a frank discussion on spirituality and end of life care with local church leaders. The discussion will also include basic hospice information, caregiver support and end of life conversations. Topics of discussion may include: Do you feel prepared to minister to those nearing the end of their life? If not, what would help you feel more prepared?In what ways can your church support the caregivers as they care for their loved ones?When a church member becomes ill or incapacitated how are they supported through the congregation? Is there support that doesn’t just come from the clergy?What would you identify as the greatest need for the elderly or sickly populations within your congregation?We invite you and any member of your church to join us and share your thoughts, ideas and expertise. Breakfast will be provided.
