Mardi Gras, (French: Fat Tuesday) is a festival day typically celebrated to mark the close of the pre-Lenten season with the custom of using all the fats in the home before Lent in preparation for fasting and abstinence. The meal will be Cajun inspired as the menu will include Gumbo Yah Yah (chicken/sausage), Crawfish Etouffee, Red Beans and Sausage, Shrimp Jambalaya, and vegetarian Etouffee. We will also have Mac-N-Cheese and chicken nuggets available for the children. In addition, Frances, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, has offered to arrange activities for the children that attend. Feb 12th is the last day to purchase tickets, so that we can plan the menu accordingly.
