Please join Highland Avenue Church on February 12th from 9:00am to 12:30pm for a morning of sharing the stories of our pandemic experience so that we can listen for how God is calling us to move forward together. We will hold two 90 minute story sharing sessions with a 30 minute break (with snacks!) in between. Childcare will be provided. Zoom access will be provided for those who are unable to attend in person.
In the first 90 minute session, participants will gather in a large group circle to share stories in response to the following questions: What do we celebrate as a community? What has united us in the past?
In the second 90 minute session, participants will gather in a large group circle to share stories in response to the following questions: What has changed? What conflicts, tension, or harm have we experienced?
We will be led through this experience by two trained facilitators and experienced ministers from Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (LMPC), Devon Miller and Tammy Martens. You can learn more about Devon, Tammy, and LMPC at lmpeacecenter.org/staff.
Whatever your experience has been in the past two years, you are invited to share your story. Hearing diverse and conflicting experiences would be helpful in creating a picture of what we have experienced and what is happening now.
Our church leadership is hopeful that this will be an opportunity that we can build on as we move into the next chapter of our life together as a faith community and individually as faithful followers of Christ.
Thank you for attending and sharing as you are able and for holding our community in prayer regardless of your ability to attend.
