The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is coming to Weaverville on Saturday, March 4th from 6-9pm at the Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center! Held each year in theaters across the west, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival celebrates the beauty and wonder of our natural world and inspires audiences everywhere to act to protect it. This cinematic event is hosted by Ascend Wilderness Experience, Trinity County Resource Conservation District, and the Trinity River Restoration Program. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting youth outdoor educational programs here in Trinity County including Ascend Wilderness Experience, Weaverville Summer Day Camp, and the Bar 717 Sixth Grade Environmental Camp. This free event is open to all ages and provides a unique opportunity to learn about environmental stewardship and activism through two hours of captivating films, while directly supporting local youth programs. Doors open at 5:30pm and the show will start promptly at 6pm. Donations are welcome at the door upon entry as well as through the sale of concessions and raffle tickets. This event is made possible with funding from Trinity River Restoration Program and the North Coast Environmental Center. Generous food and beverage donations are provided by Holiday Market, The Water Bar, Curvy Roads Kegged Wines, Trinity County Brewing Co, and Miles Garrett Wines. This is a free event, but please reserve your seat. Those who do not acquire a free ticket will be seated first come first served as space allows.
