Franklin County PA is a good place to live and work. But, it is not immune to the impacts of changing personal circumstances, financial struggles, traumas, health challenges, and the tragedy of death. Homelessness is a growing condition in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and America. Join Homeless Matters, South Central Community Action Programs (SCAAP), Women in Need, Salvation Army, Lifehouse Church, Franklin County Veterans, Franklin County Housing, and other human service organizations for an event to Open Your Eyes To Homelessness on February 16, 10:30 AM to 2 PM. Participate in discussing how our community can help curtail growing homelessness.
Open Your Eyes To Homelessness is a free event. Check-in and walk-in registrations begin at 10:30 AM at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center, 15 South Main Street in Chambersburg. (The 11/30 Visitors Center is next to Central Presbyterian Church on the southwest quadrant of the square.) Participants will be placed in groups and rotate through presentations at the 11/30 Visitors Center and Coyle Free Library, ending with a lunch presentation and discussion at the Salvation Army.
