LAKEWOOD, OH — Tickets for LakewoodAlive's next fundraising event go on sale Tuesday. "Love Lakewood: Life's A Beach," a virtual event, will be held Feb. 27. The fundraiser will celebrate beach life with virtual sand, waves and "good clean fun!" "While we won't be able to be together in person, we are still stoked to hang-ten with all of you and celebrate all of the amazing accomplishments LakewoodAlive and the community have achieved from the comfort of your own beach blanket! You'll feel the rays on your face and the sand on your toes," the organization said on its website. One ticket will buy participants a meal for one, beach swag and a link to the party. Both food, beach swag and other purchases will be available for pick-up, or delivery (for a fee), on Feb. 27 at Lakewood Congregational Church. LakewoodAlive said more information on pick-up would be provided closer to the event. All entrees come with a salad, appetizer and dessert. Entree options include: Braised beef brisketGrilled cajun shrimp skewersSmokey pulled porkVegan black bean burger with a roasted red pepper sauceParticipants can also purchase beer and wine and 50/50 raffle tickets. Delivery of food and other purchases will be limited to Lakewood, Fairview Park, Rocky River, and the west side of Cleveland. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Attendees can purchase tickets on Eventbrite and then RSVP or invite friends on Facebook. LakewoodAlive supports a variety of neighborhood-bolstering programs in Lakewood, including the Main Street program in downtown, housing outreach, education seminars and the Front Porch concert series.
