You are invited to the Shelby County Historical Society’s quarterly meeting at Magnolia Manor in Columbiana. Join us on February 4th, from 2 pm to 4 pm, as we tour this historic home built in 1853. Built by J.R. Wallace, Mildred White Wallace later occupied the home. During her life (1890-1981), Mildred was a famous composer with a beautiful singing voice known as the “Dixie Bluebird of the South.” In addition, she served as editor of the Shelby County Democrat.
Lovingly restored by its new owner, Randy Clements, the manor is available for rent for special events or overnight stays. Enjoy a home tour as Randy details the restoration journey he began in 2017.
A small reception will follow. The event is free, but registration through Eventbrite is recommended.
