Description
Hi, my name is Eric and I am reaching out to the community for Sam Rodman. My neighbor is too humble to ask for help but he needs it. Sam had worked hard for 25 years in Southwest Florida in the commercial office cleaning business. In his last year on the job there was a bird that was trapped in a stairwell of a large office building. Day after day, the bird kept trying to get free but the sealed glass windows made it impossible. Many people used that stairwell each day but nobody made an effort to free that bird except Sam. While standing on top of a tall ladder with a large bag in his hands, Sam finally got the bird into the bag. At the last second he fell backwards off the ladder onto a concrete floor and injured his back and neck. A co worker who was with him said, “OMG, ARE YOU ALRIGHT” but Sam’s only response was “take the bag outside and free the bird!” He had saved that bird but Sam could no longer do the physical work he had done for many years. Falling onto the concrete floor had injured his back and neck requiring a doctor visit each month. Sam shares his Christian faith with others to encourage them but has little else. Sam lives alone in a small efficiency on social security income and depends on his car to drive to doctors appointments and grocery store. The problem is that his car if very old and needs major repairs. He has no money to fix his old car and is desperately in need of a newer car. While living in Fort Myers Florida for 25 years, Sam was always trying to help people such as the Dept. of Children and Families where he did volunteer work for children in foster homes by providing transportation. Sam’s cleaning service was one of very few services that gave employment to women and minorities when other companies would not employ them. Sam is really the most kind and caring person you could ever meet or hope to have for a neighbor. He just needs a little help to solve his transportation problems with a good used car. Now at age 68, Sam has no children and no relatives to turn too for help. He is not expecting a new car but a used car he can depend on is essential to him and would make a big difference in his life. Instead of trying to make a few dollars....make a difference in someone's life. Do a good thing and donate a vehicle to Sam.
