Part-Time Laborer – Construction/Sign Company We are searching for a part-time general laborer worker. This position is for a busy and growing signage company in the Central Florida area. They are always hiring dedicated construction laborers to join their team. This position has lots of opportunity and growth potential for the right individual and/or small business owner. You will be responsible for assisting the owners and/or their staff with operating and maintaining various machines, load and unload frequently heavy materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, reliable, have mathematical skills, and be a hard worker. Full Job Description Working Conditions: • Regularly required to stand/walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop; and kneel, crouch or crawl • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 - 100 pounds • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles • Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud Responsibilities: • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards. • Load or unload construction materials. • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding. • Remove, fill, or compact earth. • Follow instructions from supervisors. • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary. • Perform site clean-up. • Sand, prime and paint materials as needed with attention to details. • Properly load and unload materials from trucks and trailers by hand and forklift • Effectively operate all tools and equipment safely • Prep for sign installation and install signage. • All other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Must have a valid driver's license. • Be at least 18 years of age. • High school diploma. • US Work Authorization • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. • Ability to work in all weather. • Workers must be punctual and reliable. • Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry and sign industry strongly preferred. • Able to pass urine drug analysis Additional Preferences: Laborers must exhibit a specific set of qualifications and skills in the performance of their daily duties. While the job is largely physical, there is also a range of mental skills and knowledge a good laborer must possess. A few of these important qualities and skills can include: · Color vision: Laborers must be able to distinguish color clearly to perform their duties, such as knowing which colors of wire an electrician needs. · Mathematics: Laborers have to perform calculations every day. Math skills that are vital to laborers include algebra and trigonometry, among others. · Mechanical acuity: Laborers also must maintain and operate heavy equipment and machinery, from forklifts, pressure washers, to jackhammers and more. · Stamina and endurance: To perform their very physical job, laborers have to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions. · Strength: The lifting duties involved in the job of a laborer often require lifting and carrying weights more than 50 pounds and at times more.
