Description
Like many people, I'm a mediocre guitarist who wants to get better and play more. I have the gear, I've been playing for almost 2 decades (self-taught), I know what I like, but I've never left the house to play. I don't want to be a band frontman, I can't play sizzling solos, my rhythm probably needs work since I always play alone, and I'm definitely no songwriter. Looking for a person or people to play with where I can contribute, learn, grow as a player, and most importantly have fun.
Examples of bands I can play proficiently; Incubus, Muse, RHCP, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, CAKE, Arctic Monkeys, etc etc... you know, 90s/2000s rock/alt. I really enjoy playing good ol rock'n'roll but I listen to a wide variety (electronica/big beat, grunge, pop-punk, rockabilly, classic rock, cowboy rock) and am willing to learn other genres.
I have decent electric and acoustic guitars and amps, all that jazz. Can sing basic stuff, harmony and melody. Not looking for a high pressure/pro level thing but my goal is to be able to achieve that level of competency shortly.
So yeah if your band is looking for a #2 guitarist or you're a singer/songwriter looking for basic guitar accompaniment or whatever, I'd love a chance. If it matters; mid30s male, no ego, beer/smoke friendly, reliable transport, free some week nights and the occasional weekend. Please no axe murderers.
